Diabetes will rise to 1 in 3 in the USA

Diabetes is a disease that can creep up on you over time if you lead an unhealthy lifestyle. If left untreated, diabetes can cause blindness, degenerative illnesses, heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure. It can lead to lower body amputations in serious cases. The WHO reports that between 1980 and 2014, the number of people with diabetes around the world rose from 108 million to 422 million. In the US alone, 34.2 million people have diabetes, and there are likely millions of others undiagnosed. In 2019, health complications with having the disease took the life of 1.5 million people. That’s as many lives as the highly contagious bacterial disease, tuberculosis, takes in a year. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, experts were calling diabetes the largest epidemic in human history. You could say diabetes is a lifestyle disease. Experts tell us eating a high-fat diet regularly, especially saturated fats, increases the risk of type 2 diabetes as it throws insulin resistance out of whack. This means getting all your meals at your local steakhouse, or McDonald’s, or eating white bread and packed fruit juice regularly for months or years on end may make you predisposed to diabetes. On the flip side, creating those healthy habits up front, maintaining a focus on food preparation – thinking ahead of time before the hunger pains get so great, the only option is a diet full of fat. Eating a healthy diet, exercising routinely, keeping and maintaining a healthy body weight, and quitting smoking are all recommended preventive measures. The biggest changes you can make are on the diet and weight management fronts, and that’s where USANA products come in. We’re here to answer the question: Can Diabetics use USANA Products?

Weight Management with USANA RESET

USANA 5 Day Reset Experts say excess weight is the most important cause of type 2 diabetes. If you’re overweight, your chances of developing diabetes go up seven times. Yes – 7 fold. If you’re obese, that chance goes up 20 to 40 times. Managing your weight is the single most important thing you can do to prevent diabetes. If you’re above the healthy weight range, losing 10% of your current weight can cut your chances of developing diabetes by a significant amount. The USANA RESET kit is designed to help you get started on weight management, step by manageable step. The program helps you to lower your daily caloric intake. In the initial transition stage, each day you replace two meals and a snack with USANA foods. These foods include 4 flavors of Nutrimeal meal-replacement shakes, 3 flavors of low-glycemic Protein Snacks, and HealthPaks. The program by no means limits you to USANA products, but it’s meant to act as a nutrition-packed supplement to a whole food, low-glycemic diet. In the maintenance stage, you replace only a single meal with one USANA shake. The RESET Program also makes recommendations for the fruit and vegetable servings you should include in your daily meals and the kind of exercises you should do. Experts recommend choosing whole grains over refined grains and processed carbs for your daily meals. They also recommend healthy fats, limited red meats and processed meats, increase nuts, beans, fish, and whole grains. Low-GI foods may help overweight adults lose more weight when they have normal insulin secretion. In other words, if your sugar metabolism is normal and you’re just looking to lose excess weight, low-GI foods will give you great results. Along with these dietary changes, a serving of USANA Nutrimeal shake will deliver low-GI whey or soy protein and fiber for the macros your body needs. These shakes are fructose-free and dairy-free. If you prefer soy-free, an alternative is available for you too. USANA WholeBio Nutrition Bars are delicious! • The Nutritionist says:

Hi there. Thanks for your online enquiry.

Before undertaking any new health regime, it’s always best to get some advice from a medical practitioner. I would first off suggest a lifestyle change with reviewing the types of foods and the portion sizes. I would start to exercise moderately under supervision if you feel like you should.

The Liver can regenerate itself so with a change in lifestyle and weight loss you may find your Liver starts to improve. To assist with the process here I would suggest taking the base supplements called Cellsentials with HepaSil for the Liver.

If you would like to try and lose some weight you can review the 5 Day RESET Program to kick off some good habits or the 28 Day Active Nutrition program which could also be very useful. We’ve had 10’s of thousands of people that have success with losing weight with these product suggestions.

They are Low GI and diabetics are able to consume the RESET and Active Nutrition Range but again, best to discuss this with your health practitioner. You can try to remove the gluten from your diet if gas is becoming uncomfortable and you can also include Probiotics and Digestive Enzymes to help break down food easily and reduce the gas. Your hypertension may fall naturally once your habits change and you lose weight. MagneCal D has been helpful for hypertension but if you are on medication, it is not to replace it with. Your Dr will be monitoring this for you and can lower medications when they feel you should.
