USANA™ Vitamins. What You Need To Know.

USANA™ Vitamins – Are They Good?

Original post from www.whatsupusana.com

This time of year can often be stressful. You may be traveling to visit family or worried about the holidays and getting through with the right presents at Xmas. It can be both mentally and physically exhausting. With all these extra stresses, it’s clear: we’re finding most seasons our immune system needs a boost, not just winter.

If you want to help support your immune system, be sure to get plenty of sleep, try to eat healthy foods, drink lots of water, and take the right USANA Vitamins.*

The USANA™ CellSentials®

The former USANA® Essentials have been reformulated to the USANA Cellsentials and are not only your foundation for overall health, but also a great way to support your immunity year-round.*

First up, USANA Vita Antioxidant contains several different vitamins that do a body good. Beta carotene is important for strong immunity because it helps maintain the integrity of all cell membranes, along with the digestive system and the lungs. Vitamins B6, B12, and folate are critical for producing immune cells. Vitamin E, Vitamin D, and Vitamin C (PolyC) are well known for their immune-cell supporting properties.*

USANA Chelated Core Mineral, the other half of the CellSentials, contains zinc to promote healthy immune function. It also has selenium to support a healthy immune system.*

USANA™ Vitamin D – The Sunshine Vitamin

Now that the days are getting shorter and you’re covered up for sweater weather, you probably aren’t getting enough vitamin D from the sun.

And the results are in. USANA has once again been awarded a seal of approval from ConsumerLab.com for their Vitamin D supplement. USANA’s Vitamin D Receives Seal of Approval.

This is the 14th ConsumerLab.com seal of approval for a USANA supplement since 2015, and Vitamin D’s second since 2015.

ConsumerLab.com is an independent tester of the quality, purity and label accuracy of health and wellness products, putting each item through strict testing.

To be awarded a seal of approval from ConsumerLab.com, USANA’s Vitamin D supplement had to contain 100 percent of the claimed amount of vitamin D3 and vitamin K. And disintegrate within the appropriate amount of time.

USANA’s Vitamin D product is designed as an optimal-strength supplement to combat vitamin D deficiency,” said Dr. John Cuomo, USANA’s executive director of global research and development. “This product contains 2000 IU of vitamin D3 per tablet — which is an amount we believe to be both sufficient and flexible in helping to fight individual vitamin D deficiencies.”

Vitamin D promotes a healthy, balanced immune system through its key role in the regulation and differentiation of immune system cells. It’s a great benefit that shouldn’t be limited to the summer months. Fortunately, you can always get a healthy dose from USANA’s Vitamin D supplement.*

Along with Vitamin D, several other USANA® supplements have been recently certified by ConsumerLab.com, including USANA USA CoQuinone® 30, BiOmega, USANA USA Procosa®, Visionex®, USANA USA Pure Rest, USANA® Probiotic, and Body Rox™.

USANA™ Probiotics – Multi-Purpose Probiotics

You might think USANA Probiotics are only good for your digestive system, but they can be a big help for your immune system too. There are more immune cells concentrated in your gut than in any other region of your body, and Probiotics may help your immune system to function properly.*

USANA® Probiotic provides two strains of probiotic bacteria that have been clinically shown to promote a natural balance of beneficial microflora in the gut. Basically, you can’t go wrong with USANA Probiotic for healthy digestion and immunity.*

What is Microbiome, and why is it important anyway?

You’re completely outnumbered. Your body contains over ten times more microbes than human cells (and you’ve got trillions of them) and one hundred times more microbial DNA than human DNA. Pretty big deal huh so why are microbes so important and what are they?

Basically, think tiny organisms like bacteria and yeasts. That’s all.

All the microbes inside you are collectively known as the microbiome. Think of the microbiome as the microbe-club in your body.

People often think all bacteria is bad – well yes and no. After all, anti-bacterial hand sanitizers line the shelves of pharmacy stores, but what if microbes aren’t as much of a problem as we think? In fact, what if it turns out you actually need microbes to get the benefits from your food, to help you breathe, to be less allergic and to stay healthy? Help you breathe – wait really? Yes really! Microbiome is not so bad after all right!

Researchers have found that, indeed, not all microbes are bad for you. We now know that without the bacteria we try so hard to avoid, your body actually can’t function.

That does not mean that all microbes are good for you though. That’s why we use antibiotics to kill bacteria for certain diseases. However, we’re only now starting to realize that ‘good’ microbes are essential to keeping you alive. And sometimes when we overuse antibiotics we end up killing the good microbes as well as the bad. Look forward to USANA Vitamins soon uncovering some specific products that will enhance your Microbiome.

What does the Microbiome do?

For starters, without microbes helping to break down your food into microscopic bits, your body wouldn’t absorb the nutrients from the food you eat. That means keeping your microbiome healthy is a necessary part of getting the benefits from the healthy diet you eat.

Breaking down food is just one of the many roles your microbiome plays. Studies show that if you take the microbes from a healthy rat and put them in a sick rat (that’s called a ‘microbiome transplant’), the sick rat actually gets better. And researchers from the Human Microbiome Project at the National Institutes of Health say we’ve only scratched the surface of learning about the microbiome.

How does diet affect your Microbiome?

Just like the rest of the systems in your body, your microbiome and diet are tightly linked.

We talked about how your microbiome helps break down food to absorb nutrients. It turns out that your microbiome also requires the nutrients from a healthy diet. A nutritious diet grows your microbiome and helps it become more diverse. Eating a balanced diet, gaining lots of rest and sleeping well.

Factor this in. When you are relaxed, you sleep well, when you sleep well, you eat less junk food.

So what happens then? You feel better and your natural energy levels increase and overall – it increases your good bacteria.

So Chill out and Go to Sleep!

Vitamin C and More

Proflavanol® C100 contains USANA’s Poly C® vitamin C blend. This unique blend supports white blood cell production and helps protect against oxidative stress. This is important for maintaining cellular integrity and proper function.

ProflavanolC100 is powerful supplement will also help support your cardiovascular system with high-quality grape seed extract, which is a pretty nice bonus if you ask me.*

When you’re really worried about your immune system—such as when you’re about to board a plane—turn to Booster C 600™ (only in USA). This tasty, berry-flavored powder is USANA’s powerhouse supplement for immune support.*

Booster C 600 also contains elderberry extract, because elderberries contain more anthocyanins—a type of flavonoid—than blueberries. As antioxidants, anthocyanins help protect healthy cells, and support the production of cytokines to regulate immune responses.*

You can also use Booster C 600 for a dose of Echinacea purpurea. Echinacea contains active substances that support the activity of a healthy immune system. These including polysaccharides, glycoproteins, alkamides, volatile oils, and flavonoids.*

With short-term use, Echinacea purpurea extract has been shown to naturally support a healthy immune system. But remember that “short term” part. Booster C 600 isn’t something you should take every day—just during the times when you need a little extra support.*

You probably have a lot to worry about this holiday season, but when it comes to immune support, USANA Vitamins have you covered!
